The Chasm Between Us Poem by Arthor Journer

The Chasm Between Us

There is a chasm of years between you and I
As if you were precious earth and I the sky
Seemingly never to be never to enjoy one another’s touch
Doomed to view the essence that makes souls rush
Perhaps there may be those who look at our love and understand
The bliss of our melody of laughter or holding each other’s hands
There is a time though that we join in the bog
Where we dance so close together appearing as flowing fog
Then land and sky seem to become as one
The aged sage connecting the lively heart of someone so young
There is a chasm of elements between you and me
As if you were the precious soil and I the sea
Seemingly never to be become as one
Tortured to enjoy endless touches but borders never to be undone
Perhaps there may be those who look at our love and blush
The ecstasy of our passion that flies and seems to be in a rush
There is a time though where liquid and soil mix so true
Where we dance so close hard to define what is me and what is you
The waves and earth seem to become as one
The ancient teacher connecting the virgin soil of one so young
There is a chasm of seasons between you and me
As if I was winter and you were the summer’s free
Seemingly never to be never to enjoy a passionate hug
Doomed to be distant and void of the mountains of love
Perhaps there may be those who dream and see us and understand
That love has no concept of time when it comes to woman and man
There are times though when the summer like sun melts the snow
Or when frost forms on the windows of an August flow
Then the summer and winter become temporarily as one
The weather worn sage warmed by the soul of someone so young
