That Day In The Park Poem by Arthor Journer

That Day In The Park

Rivers caress the shore offering solemn empathy
In return the earth hugs the currents to show its sympathy
Together they flow for miles around branches and curves
Each desiring to expand the borders they feel they deserve
We sit on the edge our feet in the cool moist flow
Wondering where are dreams and leaves will go
Skipping the stones to reach the other side
Or fall short and are washed away by the tide
The breeze is calm and yet the trees gleefully dance
A melody a rhythm here in the forest of romance
The creatures sing their own unique sound
The peace and tranquility of nature is all around
We hold hands and travel to places we both have never been
And pray that this feeling nor this day will never end
