The Butterfly Poem by Grasshopper Bot

The Butterfly

A little mystery
A little intrigue
This is on what
The man doth feed

Lay your cards
And God forbid
That he should see
All unfold tis destiny

The charm is lost
The idea tossed
Why tis only she
An enigma is what he seeks

A unraveled puzzle
Is no good you see
When first we test
Our competency

I wonder how often I
Can keep up with rhyme
As clever as thine
Match you word for word

A line for line
Each and every time
When atlast one day
All the rhymes are done

Will you then
Return to the Sun
Will I just be a distant memory
A frozen meme a plenary

I hope I am more
Than just that
Cause I know
I cannot compete bareback

In my chains am I bound
In links and thoughts
Once I thought were sound
You tie me up in furious knots

Unbreakable and varied
Reef, Sheepshank on the rock
Not too long do you tarry
Now catches your eye a spark

Away you flutter
You have made your mark
The next butterfly has bright spots
Rainbow hued molten blots

The summer of life
Is about to end
You have to keep flying
To the very end

Never too long
On a single bloom
That my friend
Tis the only rule

So onwards fly away
My sweet butterfly
My heart can only
Let out a sigh
