The Burst Poem by Somanathan Iyer

The Burst

I waited in vain all along
to etch out a life that I like
a temple I built in my heart
the deity missing for a long
colorful I dream t all my life
grey truth scratches all along
kingdom I have on my own
queen is missing all the time
tunes and lyrics I kept composed
melody missing in all of that
verses of words I wrote a lot
failed to enthrall even a few
despite all these I still brave
God in his abode having a laugh!
