The Bull’s Eye Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

The Bull’s Eye

Sleep inducing concentric circles
Mutual and dual colours
Black into white
White into black
Plain platform on vertical mount
Yet I must get the bull’s eye
As hard as life itself
A focus often distracted
An aim that is disillusioned
Then the drive propelled in high velocity
In a distance so minute
Very relative energy, most of the time
I must get the bull’s eye
I must hit the target
A big hit on the nail’s head, as they do say
Here, it is the bull’s eye
For a miss; I keep on trying
For a hit; I shall never rest on my oars
I must hit the bull’s eye!
