The Brave

Rating: 4.0

As long as we live
Life will give us what we need
Of course what we need
Isn't always what we want
To accept and understand this without complaint
Is a wise ones stance
And a brave ones strength
To withstand and overcome
Pain and suffering
Is the mark of the brave
The brave like a sage.

Before the ages of materialism
The lands were ruled to serve the people
By the sages of antiquity
Which to thee and me is mythology
But a very real mythology
To those who would dare to dream
Of spaceships and greater things
Coming in from a far on the wings of our prayers
And he who dares to dream the dream of dreams
Creates the dreams and makes the dreams
Spread far and wide within our minds.

And in the twilight the braves sat
By the feet of the Sages
The heard tales of wonder and intrigue
And were wise enough to heed the wise
Were kind enough not to turn blind eyes
Upon the sufferings of our kind
And strong enough to move with the times
When those times turned sour and bad
But the braves went on as they grew
Stronger to go on into the fight to do what is right
Just for the sake of it, not the hell of it
Because they could do no other
But feel for every being as a brother
And learning to try to treat nature as our mother
Mistakes were made and will be made
Misjudgements occurred and will occur
But the brave go on and by Jove they will get strong.
