The Boat Poem by Sarah Connor

The Boat

I see the black murky water,
I see the boat floating away,
It doesn't come back,
It doesn't turn around.
I drift towards a waterfall,
I get closer to the black.
The branches on the bank push me away,
I try to grab on,
The branches tear my skin.
I try to get back to the boat,
But it goes faster.
Soon the black is all I see,
Clouding my vision,
I scream but no one hears,
No ones there,
I'm all alone,
Hoping for a boat that won't come.
