The Bluebird Poem by Lone Dog

The Bluebird

I met a friendly bluebird
Along a lonely way.
`Twas the first I e'er encountered
And the highlight of my day.

It flashed upon a fencepost
In brilliant bluish hue.
Then, it darted through the thicket,
Re-emerging into view.

It paralleled my passage
In staggered fits and starts,
And it cheered me with its music -
Just the cure for saddened heart.

Alas, my friend departed
And I in solitude
Thought how fortunate the meeting
That transformed my downcast mood.

Yes, I met by chance a bluebird
Along a lonely way.
`Twas the first I e'er encountered
And it changed the dark to day.

Beautiful, wish I could ever produce such a masterpiece, for it is a simple and perfectly worked poem
