The Birthday Girl Poem by Stephen Morris

The Birthday Girl

One day early, or one day late,
Time doesn't really matter, so why should I wait?

Every day of the year, morning or night,
rain pouring down, or the Sun shining bright,
a girl sits and wonders, 'Why am I here?
Maybe things would be better if I just disappeared! '

Sometimes she screams so loud inside, yet no one seems to hear. This makes her feel alone, even with everyone so near.
What she needs to know is that they are screaming too,
hoping she can hear the words they say which are so true,
That she is so very special and loved in every way,
and if she disappeared, their lives would never be the same!

Yes, birthdays are great, that special time of year,
the time when 'Special and Loved' are words you love to hear,
But this girl, especially this girl, needs to know for sure,
that every day,365, these words are meant for her!

So a few days early, or a few days late, can never change what's true, she is special and loved every day, a birthday wish come true!
