The Birds Poem by Dr Shamim ali

The Birds

The Birds
Gliding on air streams, travelling forever upwards, on top of the mountains
The Himalayan legend the beautiful birds completely in flight born in the air,
A stunning creature, tender by nature underneath the summer sky
From flower to flower let they fly this is all that they wish to do.
The cheerer on our window panes the friend of our summer pleasure
What hinders, then, that they are our companion in the bright weather,
And winds from the meadows blowing, Whispered and flew away,
But the Bird sang on in the stillness Of the slowly fading day.
And fly about in the air together a crimson as bright as your own
Amorous and faithful, in winter and summer with us in all seasons
