The Bet Poem by I M Swan

The Bet

I bet you thought I'd come crawling back to you
Like so many times before
Now I hold the cards and the games will now begin
So anti up, lets play once more

Last time around we played by your rules
With everything wild
I've grown up since you first won my heart from me
I'm no longer that child

You once played the King, but now you're just a joker
Without a throne
Your Queen is now a total Bitch
With a heart of stone

Now I'll bet the tears I've cried because of you,
Each one is worth a lot,
Against the lies you've told to me
That should raise the pot

Cards on the table now, I call your hand
Ha, this time you lost
Next time you cheat don't play with hearts
You'll find it's not worth the cost
