The Bell Poem by Minka Vanijs

The Bell

I cannot hear the bell.
It's once soothing melody
chills me now as I remember
it's gentle clanging in the winter air.
Each toll calls forth ghosts of past happy moments-
Nestled in bed,
warm together
as the frigid sea winds rushed outside our window in the
still starry night.
And we,
together in our little ship
safe and warm-
content,
head to head
heart to heart
your breath on mine
warming the space between;
my love
neverending.
