The Beginning Poem by Katie Figueroa

The Beginning

The night cool
The moon bright
Silvery slivers of light endowed the night
While curlers in my hair I wound tight.

Thoughts of sharing filled my heart.
Suddenly His presence graced the room like a dart.
His cloud like form slipped through the door
His love enveloped me and more.

Classes on Sunday were taught
Clean heart and ears were needed to hear him.
His words spoken were jumbled.
Praying, 'open my ears, ' I mumbled.

Then words with love I heard so clear
'Be ye a believer unto me.'
My doubt now gone.
I am set free.
