The Band Poem by Ray Hansell

The Band

Rating: 5.0

When they first started out
There was fondness and respect
But as the years went on
From each other they couldn't get

The joy and the excitement
That filled their lives before
It seemed now being together
Became more of a chore

But soon it became apparent
Their talents would clash
They tried to stay together
But they just didn't last

Soon they all parted ways
Off to do their own thing
It seem the two we heard the least
Are the one's we heard sing

There were four of them
Their music changed the world
At one time they were the heartthrobs
Of most teenage girls

Soon the news was out there
The band announced they were through
They'd no longer make music together
There was nothing anyone could do

They all became stars
In their solo careers
We lost two of them
As we traveled through the years

They changed the course of music
But that was not their goal
They just wanted to make records
Where upon millions and millions were sold
