The African Dream Poem by Jabulani Mzinyathi

The African Dream

where children are not robbed
robbed of their childhood

where the AK 47 is not a toy
and the laughter of african children resonates

where our women and children live
devoid of all forms of abuse

where there is freedom of speech
and freedom after speech

where there is tolerance for dissenting voices
and no fear of trumped up charges

where arms bills do not go up
at the expense of food production

that is the africa we want
the africa posterity should inherit
