The 5th Of July Poem by Andrew Horsey

The 5th Of July

5th of July
Rise to the Free
Rise to the nuances within me
Take your worries, take your needs
Don’t indulge me

Freedom is a gift
It fades in time
I am becoming cool

War is an original thought
Peril that we cannot comprehend
Wishes in war, underground railroads
Indulges, insults us, yet we are not free

Presidents come, some better than most
All try to take us back to the roots
Knots fill the air

Modern world reckons our every move
Family molds our being
5th of July can you save us

What about me
