The 11th Of November Poem by Kristen DonovanHutt

The 11th Of November

Rating: 5.0

Every day, lives are lost
Part of war, that’s the cost
Their jobs are to fight and defend
For most of them, it’s the beginning of the end

Once a year is all we ask
To remember those who died at their task
They fought for us, to keep us free
They took a stand, they did not flee

Now they’re gone, but their memories live on
And as I say this, many of you may yawn
But though you may, don’t you ever forget
They fought for us and death is what they’d met

Today is their day, let’s keep it well known
To remember the strength and braveness they’d shown
So put on some red and try to remember
For their day has come again, the 11th of November
