That's The Tune Poem by Mark Nichols

That's The Tune

Won't you sing this song with me
Why don't you raise your voice and call out
All you have to do is open up your mouth
And let it all out

Won't you whistle a happy tune
‘Cause it's a full strawberry moon
Or maybe not
It doesn't matter ‘cause we're singing
Like a pack of lonesome dogs
Howlin' high up in the canyon
We don't need a marching band to show us how

Oh I ooooooo
That's the tune
Oh I ooooooo
That's the tune

Won't you sing this song with me
It's an opportunity
To throw your head back
And let it go

Won't you scream a happy tune
‘Cause it's your party on a full moon
Or maybe not
Let's take what we've got
It doesn't matter ‘cause we're singing
Like a pack of lonesome dogs
Howlin' high up in the canyon
And below us sing the frogs
And we don't need a f****n' band to show us how

Oh I oooooo
That's the tune
Oh I oooooo
That's the tune

Though it might not be the month of June
And the morning might come too soon
You better sing it like a loon
Upon the lake
We got to take
This chance to
