That Little Thing Poem by Zainab Hussein MNSR

That Little Thing

Rating: 4.8

The parting gift
that you gave me last night
I do not wish to keep it
It might cause a fight

It's just a little thing
but its meaning is so big
to look at it stings
all the memories it brings

That little thing, a charm
Meant to keep us together
Will cause too much harm
Why did you even bother?

That little thing
I do not wish to keep
Will be sent back to you
As soon as can be

I consider it an evil omen
It makes my heart broken
And leaves the wounds open
that little thing

How beautiful! I love the simplicity in flow of ideas, and the fact that a gift that one day had made one happy would suddenly become an evil omen. Thanks for sharing.
