Thanksgiving Tradition Poem by Walterrean Salley

Thanksgiving Tradition

Ever the anticipation,
Our table was always full
On Thanksgiving Day.

Family and Friends—loving,
Laughing and sharing—
Enjoyed the blessedness
Of the blessings bestowed.

Delightful dishes, pleasant
To the eye and pleasing to
The taste, solely, were made
For such a special time.
All were welcome as long
As the food lasted.

May the Thanksgiving tradition
Continue throughout our adult
Years and far beyond
For generations to come.
