We thank you for the Old Year, Lord,
And let the New Year spread the Word!
Let people love the joy and peace
That Christmas brought, and wars all cease!

Let love of brethren rule all hearts;
Let corruption vanish like warts;
Let poor all get the basic things
As paupers too can live like kings.

Appease the Nature’s furies, God,
And cleanse the heart of man sans rod;
Let earth be haven for lives all
As earthlings heed to Maker’s call.

Accept our gratitude to you
For many miracles you do;
Man’s endeavors are futile when
Estranged from Nature and Heaven.

Help us to write the New Year’s Book
In golden letters’ improved look;
Give us the chance to do things right
And make our future ever bright.
