Thank You Hater Poem by Edgar James Momoh

Thank You Hater

I thank God for haters
Yes, I know they hate me
They hate for what I know and stand for
Yes, they hate me for my dream of becoming brighter, better and bigger

They hit me with blows of their thoughts
Browbeat me with their mouths
But they cannot break my fort
Because my dream is bigger than I, and God is the giver.
I cannot contain it,
But no one can curtail it, because God is the keeper of my dream.

When I understood it only in part and my friends cannot comprehend it,
My haters dissected it into pieces
Aha! Then it began to make sense to me.
They let me see every piece of the jigsaw puzzle of my dream.

Every criticism helped me know where not to lay each piece of the puzzle;
Every criticism helped me realize how to trust God more
Every criticism helped me appreciate the importance of my dream and
Every criticism brought me closer to achieving my dream.

Thank God for haters,
For without them, I wouldn't have learned how to believe and trust God more
THANK YOU HATER! I am because of you.
