Thank You Poem by Trevor Hatch

Thank You

To the many
Who have given
Who never took,
To the ones that stand
To the ones that fall
We thank you,
But to never hear our thanks
It hurts us,
To never hug or kiss loved ones
To never hear them laugh or to see a smile,
But thank you
Because of you we live
Free and strong,
You may be gone
But your legend lives on amongst us,
Because of you we won the war
For that we thank you,
Rest in peace.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
What inspired me to write this poem was that the fact that people like you and me are willing to lay down their life and fight for those who can't and they are the greatest heroes among us.
