Time and again Lord
You test my faith
Sometimes I ask not, to run the race
But to see your mother lying there
helpless, hurting, unaware
The woman who took care of you
raised you up, saw you through
It will take all and more
to summon courage from my core
To be the rock for her to lean
for whatever lies ahead unseen
So now I pray Lord, with your grace,
give me courage to run this race
