Tessa, Tessa Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Tessa, Tessa

Rating: 4.5

She ran across the street
With her hands tangled in her hair
Screams sang from her lips
The night shook, the stars fell
Her harlequin heart did a twirl
So did her frail porcelain body
Down she fell, deeper and deeper
Into her own self-afflicted
Demise; mush, mime and all

More than just a goddess's smile
And the universe's, soughing muse
Her eyes mapped out every tear
Cheeks paved way for the cries
And its arms that cradled her
Every sleeping morning
Like sugar cube in dull coffee
She dissolves into the musings
Of re-written elegies and chain

Weep no more.. Tessa, Tessa
Snowflakes will get lost in you
Soon the clouds will dance about you
Let the mysteries and forsakenness
Hang from your hopeful trees
As the leaves brush against your skin
Send your kisses into the air and back
I long to see and feel your sanguinity
Thaw the world out; You're a symphony
