...Tender Grief



The halo of your love
Looms large
And floats softly
In the breath i take
Long after you leave
To your world of
Everyday living

A grief so tender
Envelops me
In those hours
Of lonely musings
Whose spell will be broken
If revealed

The rooms become silent
And the plants dare not stir
Enveloped completely now
Leaving nothing but a naked spring

As i cloth those moments
Spend together just an month ago
Where hours fly like the wild mocking bird
Mocking my heart
Which was feather light a while ago
Now...as heavy as stone

Do you know my love
That you carry a part of me
Everytime you go
And while you are gone
I await in silent anticipation
To return me
To myself
And make me
Whole...
