Tick, the balance taps the pallet
Tock, the balance re-taps the pallet
Tick, The pallet unlocks the escape
Tock, the pallet re-locks the escape
Tick, escape releases power
Tock, the escape restricts power
Tick, the gear train shifts in motion
Tock, the gear train repeats this notion
Tick, the mainspring in the barrel holds strength,
Tock, the mainspring in the barrel unwinds
Tick, up the winding stem to the crown and bow
Tock, in your palm you hold more than you know...
