Teasing Ap'peel' - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Teasing Ap'peel' - Lincoln Park Zoo

I read a poem, 'Banana School, '
By Billy Collins who contends
That apes and monkeys as a rule
Peel bananas by other ends
Than the ends that humans prefer.
So I went to Lincoln Park Zoo
To test if this theory was sure.
Lots of unpeeling I did do
In front of monkeys and of apes.
They watched me as I did unpeel,
But all seemed a bit out of shapes,
That no reward was in the deal.

I gobbled each banana down,
And each monkey and ape did frown.

Some good 'monkey-business' going on here! I enjoyed it.
