Tears On A Desert Spring Poem by James Long II

Tears On A Desert Spring

Rating: 5.0

You told the oceans to calm
you told my spirit to move
And in the labyrinth of thoughts where I had wandered so long
Knew I belonged to you

I hear you singing out a mournful tune
Your voice is soft but it's clear
And through mountains and springs it brought me to my knees
There's no power could move me from here

Cause you're the only one I know
Can make the sunlight dance and frozen rivers flow
You shine so bright in your defiance
I'd shift eh world just to let you know

You count your stumbling steps
And question how much further you'll have to go
You've got those ropes dug deep into your hands
Keeping tension on your bow
And I can't make the monsters cower
or guide you outside of this maze
But I'll make my stand in hell beside you
Until the mountains wear away
I'd rather memorize your darkness, and see you clear with open eyes
Then live a thousand lives of safety without the stars you hung to shine

I fear the shadow of the silence
And the raging storm it sounds
But in your song I found the courage
To lay my weapons on the ground

You won't be lonely
no, not this time

Ocean is told to be calm and spirits are told to move in love and sadness we do not need more in life as this provokes thought. An amazing poem is brilliantly penned.10
