Tears Poem by Jim O'Donnell

Tears

The pain in your eyes I can see
When you’re standing right next to me
Tears are running down your face
A watery track it leaves a trace

Just what is wrong I don’t know?
As in my pocket I fondle round
And pull out a tissue I have found
Wiping that tear from your cheek

What words do I use or do I speak
I smile at you and you smile back
No words are needed that’s a fact
As we go our separate ways
You will remember that stranger on that day
