Tears Poem by George Aul

Tears

'Tears of sadness with a tint of gray, '
my daughter did tell me how she felt,
I understood her feelings that one sad day,
as both of our hearts began to melt.

Someone close to both of us,
had fallen very ill,
she said not to worry or make a fuss,
she may get better with just a pill.

My daughter's tears were flowing indeed,
as I told her that it was okay to cry,
I said it was her heart's primary need,
to look above and ask God why.

The tears of sadness began to slow,
and her heart seemed much lighter,
I told her not to feel so low,
'Your great-grandma is one tough fighter.'
