Tears Poem by Jake Gassiot

Tears

Rating: 2.8

They run down your cheek
They show your sadness
They show your happiness
The emotion escapes you in them
They are the “get-away” car
They show you care
They can drip
They can drown
They can relive you of loneliness
They keep you in the dark
They are a way to get away
To run away, but stay home
They can come at anytime
They come anywhere
They can never some for me
My eyes are as dry as the desert
They might find a little water
But not enough to cry
I keep wandering around
I keep traveling
I try to find the phoenix
It’s like trying to catch a unicorn
Must I solve the sphinx’s riddle
Do I need to find the key
It feels that anger is a wall of fire
If any tears come close they evaporate
I don’t think I will ever cry
Tears will never run down my face
My anger over comes me
Tears are just one more thing I can’t have
