Take What You Need, Lord Poem by Fab Ricciardi

Take What You Need, Lord

Take what you need

Take what you need, Lord…

You asked me for my eyes,
Please take them.
You asked me for my hands,
They’re yours.
You wanted my legs,
Do with them as you will.
You asked for my strength,
I no longer need it.
You asked for my sense of being,
It’s all yours.
You asked for my heart,
It only beats for you.
Everything you ask for,
Is all yours.
I have no need for the things you ask for.
They all belong to you to use as you will.
I trust your guidance to help me give back,
To help me return some of the gifts I was so freely given.
I pray I satisfied all your needs while on this earth
Let me follow my angels above and
take heed of the virtues and values instilled from above.
Please God, let me be your slave, guide my way,

…Looking forward to that Great Beyond.
