Take Me Out Poem by Catya Prager

Take Me Out

Rating: 5.0

Out of the darkness
And into the light
I crave to escape
For this can't be right
I inhabit a Darkness
That eats and destroys
But I've lived here so long
I've come to think of it as home
Here I'm always welcome
And there are no questions asked
Here I find strong arms open
As if in embrace
These arms are comforting
And in icy mock comprehend
But of course they do,
Why would they not?
When the very essence of my pain
Lies in their own metal chain?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I know it's not always rhyming. Sorry.
A couple of months ago, I was very...sad, not sure why. And this is (very accurately) how I felt.
Hope you like it.
