Synthetic Poem by Becca Bell

Synthetic

You are not real
This person I want you to be
You are a figment of my imagination
My mind wanders
Thoughts of desire lingering...
Floating around in my brain
Like a feather blowing in the wind
WOOSH-you're gone;
This person I wanted to see.
This person, he is synthetic.
Unreal, nonexistent
He denies me my natural thoughts.
To pursue the person he thinks he would like to be
YOU LIE!
You are faux, false, fake, a fraud
This image you portray,
So unlike those I see in my head.
I have to wonder, do you?
I think so...
Until such time you realize,
I declare you are synthetic.
Not real.
Not the person I so badly wish you could be.
