Sylvia Poem by debbie gregory

Sylvia

Sylvia was the girl next door
a true freind to me forever more

We played we forght our freindship true
I would always ring her out of the blue

In contact we would always keep
it shows that our freindship has run deep

We think of each other now and then
a card at xmas we would send

The years have past and time has flown fast
40 odd years our freindship has last

With families of our own to keep
and the loss of our elders we do weep

But life goes on and the world keeps turning
I've moved again as she's learning

Each time we catch up with things to say
she hears ive moved far away

On the go again my freind
a card or letter I will send

A rove I have always been
to stay in one place is not my scene

I know that you will always be there
to travel and rome is the thing Ido best
staying just long enough for a well earned rest

To hit the road and to move on again
Is something I must do 'I can not explain '

But no matter where I will be
Sylvia will always be a freind to me

I may not say it and it may not show
she's the greatest freind I've ever known

To meet this woman in your life
she's a mother of two and a wife
She'saring and loving and sincere
she's deserving of a medal and mother of the year

If you dont know her then you have missed out on knowing what freindship is all about

For I have been blessed to know her well
and this I am proud to speak off and tell...
