Swords Can'T Cry (1991) Poem by Jodie Phillips

Swords Can'T Cry (1991)

I was forced to fight
In someone else's war.
He held to me tight
And made me kill some more.

The job was hard for me,
I caused someone to die.
I wanted to be free.
Its sad a sword can't cry.

Now the war is over.
Once again, in peace I'll live.
Please don't kill again, sir,
One more death I can't forgive.

Every blow has toughened me
In each battle that I've fought.
Now I'm glad that I can see
the lesson that I was taught

Amen. Is it right for us to take the life of someone else? who are we to say who lives and who dies? Those are the questions we must ask ourselves.
