Sweet Revenge Poem by Allyson Gordon

Sweet Revenge

Rating: 5.0

I really can’t wait
For you to get the letter
From a Legal Aid lawyer
To make things all better

I’m not talking to you anymore
Because I don’t have to
Legal Aid will do that for me
There’s only one thing I want from you

I want to see my siblings
That’s what the letter is for
I want visitation with them
Without having to see you anymore

Don’t think this is the last
You will see of me,
The kids should not be in your house
It’s the worst place they could be

So as soon as I’m eighteen
I’m going to fight
To get them taken away
So they can have a good life

I have to do something
I have to move them
For the one reason,
So you can’t hurt them again

I hope it hurts real bad
To see your kids turn against you
Then maybe you’ll understand
The pain you’ve put me through

I smile at the thought
Of tearing your world in two
And knowing that sweet revenge
Is finally coming to you!

Live well. It is the greatest revenge. (From The Talmud) Says it better than any comment I could make about this vibrant poem.
