Sweet Jesus Christ Poem by Thyris Taylor

Sweet Jesus Christ

My favorite time of year is unabashedly clear.
It is when the faithful celebrate Christmas.
Now on Christmas Day I get up and pray,
in the way that all the faithful are taught.

We thank the Christ for the ultimate sacrifice
by his death on the cross. We thank the Christ
for his kindness, purity, goodness, and love. He is
Our lord the almighty, the lamb and the dove.

At Christmas time in the midst of cold climes
we renew our faith in the way. Helping others,
humble demeanor, and turning the other cheek.
We celebrate the birth of Christ, always sweet.

I like this poem very much - it says all there is to say about Christmas and the Reason for it: Jesus Christ. I'm glad you do not confine your poetry into style and format and write them as you want them. That's very good!
