Sweet Delusions Poem by show me the glint of light on broken glass

Sweet Delusions

Rating: 4.0

I’m really tired
but I don’t need a nap
Oh, dear have you seen my will?
Lately it’s been circling the deep end
Dreaming of drowning
Sinking
And all without a scream
Now walking home from school
Our neurotic brain’s ballet recital
Is ready to begin

Off the sidewalk
A step or two
The perfect timing
And in the middle of the street
Something severed
Something limp

A lovely crimson glow
Will decorate my sin
And over and over
This is how my minds entropy ascends to this
Never ending robotic fantasy
we so mechanically recycle
Over and over
Again and again

But
This last attempt
Will be my greatest masterpiece
Watch me dream it
Time and time again
Synthetic happines
*she shakes the bottle*
Now where shall we begin
