Sweeping Gloom Away Poem by gershon hepner

Sweeping Gloom Away

The words within this poem bear
a message sweeping gloom away;
please do not print them, lest you tear
apart the meaning that they say.

The words of this poem are inspired by a poem by Sengai Gibon (150-1837) , illustrate by a depiction in the Japanese Pavilion at LACMA showing the poet Kanzan reading aloud a poem while the sweeper Jittoku sweeps the monastery in which they both live.
