Surprise Desert Rains Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Surprise Desert Rains

Rating: 5.0

Out in the sand
Away from river bed
I walk all alone
In wet desert land
For its has rained

It's has rained
Things have changed
I am not the same
For rains have touched
My finger tips my hands

Rains have touched
My fingers and hands
My very being relishes
So does
Every Pore every strand

As I soak in this love
So rare in desert grand
Where I see rare blooms
Where there were sand dunes
Green oasis stand

Green oasis as far as I see
I don't think of beyond
For heaven is here for me

Soon the Sun
Will dry up these lands
This gypsy girl
Will be walking dry sand

But the experience of rains
Will never set her free
Forever in heart
She will carry this mystery
