New Journey Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

New Journey

Rating: 4.7

Your imprints
On my body
On my soul
Will remain
Etched in stone

A quick reminder
They will be
Of what
I've been through
What has become of me

Like neglected
monuments
Painless scars,
Of no consequence

A new journey
Of no return
I have embarked on
bridges have been burnt

With My favourite back pack
A pair of good old shoes
And all hardy terrain
I am ready to go cruise

Spread your wings and fly away. Leave your pain in yesterday.

I love the contrast between 'Your imprints On my body On my soul Will remain Etched in stone' and 'With My favourite back pack A pair of good old shoes And all hardy terrain I am ready to go cruise' encapsulating the words, sentiments within; old seasoned shoes are good sure friends on a journey through hardy terrain, they bless our feet on the journey
