Summer Was Here Poem by Deja Noelle Rupp

Summer Was Here

Rating: 0.5

Summer was here
I can still smell it in the air
the days flew by as I ran through tall fields
Laughed until we cried with the best of my friends
Stayed up all night under the gleaming bright stars
Spent our days exploring through the park
Laying in hammocks enjoying the sun
running through the sprinklers
I've never had so much fun
and after a long hot day of hanging with my friends
I'd fall asleep to crickets chirping by the window next to my bed
Waking up whenever I pleased
Getting flip flop sun tans
Enjoying the warm refreshing breeze
Making hilarious music videos with all of my buds
Drifting off to sleep watching them
Man did we have fun!
When i needed some time just to be alone
Nothing stopped me from grabbing my camera
And taking incredible photos against the golden sun
and when it rairley rained like it sometimes did
I'd dance around in a cute lil dress getting soaking wet
and as the summer started drifting away and the days began to loose their length
I layed out in the hammock still never thinking about the day
when the leaves would turn they're color from bright green to orange and red when the sun hid behind the clouds and the rain flooded this state
and now that day is here
the dark and dreary sky
depressing all these people keeping them locked away inside and every now and then when the dark black cloudy sky cracks up wide enough to see the sun and its magnificent light
the sky so blue
I've almost forgotten
my pale face cracks open a smile
