The Lost Love Of A Rubber Duck Poem by Deja Noelle Rupp

The Lost Love Of A Rubber Duck

Rating: 0.5

unable to move
unable to breathe
unable to think
unable to speak

unfulfilled wishes and dreams
as if a curse was put upon thee
alone for all of eternity
plastic eyes cant shed a tear
alone in his thoughts as he gets near
the day when he will be thrown away
not needed anymore not loved again

he remembers the days when he would float on bubbly water
bringing a smile to his giggly young owner
now he sits in a dusty old cupboard
no one near
no one to hear
sometimes he hears that same familiar voice
going down the hall to do his chores
the same old voice that used to say
I love you duckie
I'll keep you always!
