Summer Storm Poem by William B. Deutscher

Summer Storm

Rainy day afternoon cloud burst in lightning strikes
Thunder crashing up dark air in the washing water's flight

Trees shake outside my window glass in sobbing smacks of gray
The monsoon drops its floodgates wide in the drenching downpour day

I'm looking for relief up and down the street
But all I see is slashing rain in rushing driving sheets

And now the sun comes out again like a tropical smile
Blue-sky caprice in a sudden change for a while
