Summer Night Poem by Natasha Dowdy

Summer Night

The dark ashes rise into the vast unknown
as the last embers fade.
The cool night air flows deep as I inhale.
Crickets sing their lullabies, while the wind whisks away my thoughts.
The once empty sky is filled with bright freckles, as the moon reaches her peak.
I breath in the crispness of summer, then melt into the night.
