Suicides Lament Poem by Rick Elpers

Suicides Lament

Rating: 5.0

Friendless and alone
merciless world I bid you adieu
For it is my time to pass
The signs are there daily
To guide me away even though
Inticements abound lusting
For my attention that I folly
To gaze upon knowing
it will never be to me that
Such reward should come my way
With the sadness that only
 living can bring
I long to be and not
Such a quandary to pray for
life and death in the same breath
And hope for forgiveness
Strength and courage to face
The inevitable outcome
Swiftly should it be that
I pass to the Lords gift
Of eternal life only to forgo
This one that only I have known
Good bye
