Sudden Awakenings Poem by Ricardo Perez Salamero Garcia

Sudden Awakenings

Love will tear us apart

quietly sleeping in the forest,
of a sudden, somebody, in that death,
kissed my heart, opened my eyes
I didn't wake up at once,
even if she kissed my lips, made love to me,
I kept walking dead in daily life affairs,
and when the terrors of time jailed me
and my body lacked breath
I knew, of a sudden, I was healing
the old wounds that kept me dead, opening
the mind to renascence
It didn't happen once, but twice, thrice,
even all along the tunnel of one life's time since birth,
even, surely, all along the tunnel
of many life forms in time
since the appearance of matter
love trying to awaken you
even in the abysses of oceans,
even in methane lakes of Titan
love tearing you apart again and again
