Stripped Naked Poem by Midifo Yearns

Stripped Naked

Crucified and naked he hung upon the cross
they did not leave a single robe
that he could claim his own
his deeds untold, their lies unfold
and all of life like seed is sown;
their evil ways will truth now probe
to strip the vessel free of dross.

In furnace of great love he cries
blocked ears and eyes that fail to see
hearts that spurn his every need
reason never told, just silence icy cold
and in that barren land is sown a seed
of all that once he was and still can be
if he lays down his life in peace and dies.

It’s there upon that cross, in nakedness complete
that life begins its strength to show
that tongues of flame in bursting fire
begin to reap and then to seep
into this broken body filled with desire
to catch and capture wind lest it blow
too strong for one who is discreet.
